Qualifications - Dancing - Season 12


      If you are home schooled - you need to be age 13  as of April 1st and still be 18 on July 1st
      This rule is consistent with most school district rules for school age teen participation.  

      Early graduates must be no more than 18 as of July 1st.   

      19 year olds must be graduating in 2018 and be in the 12th grade at a public or private school

Must be a US citizen or legally able to live and work in the United States
and intend on doing so thru July December 21st, 2018

Must live within 35 miles of the city of Portland (97201),

Must attend all competition rounds

Must agree to perform at during the summer tour including fairs and other contests. May not be required to perform at every one, but
need to be willing to commit to 80% of all dates - even those that may be during the day time - during summer months.

Students that do not complete their commitment, will be terminated, stripped of the finalist title and barred from
Teen Idol group activities and all related events. This to ensure only serious contestants go through.
Can be a former Teen Idol Finalist as Dance is not competing against singing.

Must not be a trained semifinalist or finalist of a national talent competition (for dance) with an unfair advantage over other students
Though we would love to hear from you about potentially mentoring, volunteering or judging.

No professional dancers. Extensive public performance experience or contracts are unfair advantages over other students.

REMINDER to review the paper application for other rules, requirements and obligations.  It is important that all students that
qualify and go on to tour, are prepared to put forth 110%.


Contestants may volunteer to help any other program but will not provide an advantage over any other contestant.  

You must choose to participate in Teen Idol Singing OR Dance - not both in the same year.

Teen Idol finalists in dance become part of the family and are welcome back to participate in fun activities and may be invited to
participate in events such as an invitation only national competition auditions.
